Our Story
Pub & Eatery
Est. 2017
Sons of Toil is a brewery and taproom in Mt. Orab, with 20 beers and 4 ciders. Founded in 2017 on the idea of having a communal space that is family friendly where you can relax, unwind, and hang out with good people drinking good beer.
We are a small batch brewery that brews many true to style ales. We also enjoy getting creative and trying new things. We have a large board with a variety of styles to make sure anyone can come in and find a flavor that they enjoy. We also offer flights to encourage trying our many offerings.
Being a brewery built on community, we host a lot of events throughout the week that are fun and free to join. But more importantly we host multiple fundraisers throughout the year for our community.
Go check out our events page and follow us on our socials to stay up to date on all the things we do and offer.

The Inspiration to our name
In reading the History of Brown County we came across this passage which became the inspiration of our name. Our family like many in this area came from a long line of farmers who made their living through hard work and sacrifice.
"Green Township was slow in being peopled and improved; the land from Greenbush up to the northern boundary line comprising fully one-half of its acreage, is very flat and level, and was for years very swampy. The lands of Green have been ditched and drained, and now compare favorably in productive quality to any of Brown County. The old pioneer foreigners will leave a goodly heritage for their sons and daughters to enjoy.
All honor is due to those horny handed Sons of Toil, who left their native land and crossed the ocean, cast their lot in the swamp lands of Green Township, and by hard labor and unceasing toil, have made it what it now is."
